Description

Masala chai is an Indian tea beverage made by boiling black tea in milk and water with a mixture of aromatic herbs and spices.

Originating in India the beverage has gained worldwide popularity, becoming a feature in many coffee and tea houses.

Ingredients (Servings: 2)

Steps

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
  2. Add ginger, cloves, cinnamon stick, green cardamom, and black cardamom; simmer until flavors infuse, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add tea bags; simmer for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Add milk and sugar; bring back to a boil.
  5. Strain tea into mugs.
